Whānau Support
Home visiting social work support service offered by experienced Māori social workers. The social workers will work with tamariki, rangatahi and their whānau to establish a plan that will improve their long term social, health and education outcomes. They can help by:
- working with whānau to keep tamariki safe
- supporting during crisis situations
- assisting whānau to work with Child Youth & Family and other government agencies
- assisting to improve individual and whānau wellbeing
- helping whānau make decisions about their personal problems
- advising whānau on their rights and opportunities
- linking whānau with community resources such as benefits and accommodation
- giving advice on social problems
- working with other professionals to improve communication between agencies
