Whānau Support

Home visiting social work support service offered by experienced Māori social workers.  The social workers will work with tamariki, rangatahi and their whānau to establish a plan that will improve their long term social, health and education outcomes.  They can help by:

• working with whānau to keep tamariki safe
• supporting during crisis situations
• assisting whānau to work with Child Youth & Family and other government agencies
• assisting to improve individual and whānau wellbeing
• helping whānau make decisions about their personal problems
• advising whānau on their rights and opportunities
• linking whānau with community resources such as benefits and accommodation
• giving advice on social problems
• working with other professionals to improve communication between agencies
