Sexual and Reproductive Health Services

The purpose of this service is to improve the sexual and reproductive health of Maori by promoting safe and positive sexual and reproductive health behaviors.

The three key components of this service are the provision of training and co-ordination for Maori health service providers and health promotion services.

Training programme and Co-ordination services

  • Level I training – for new educators and
  • Bi-annual up-date training – for educators who have completed level 1

The training programme is available to all Maori health providers in the greater Wellington region.

Co-ordination activities are undertaken in conjunction with the training days and outside of this as necessary.

Health Promotion Service

The service aims to provide health promotion and education services to Maori between the ages of 12-35 either one on one or in a group setting in the community.

Services can be provided in Wellington, Lower Hutt, Porirua, Kapiti, Wairarapa and Wainuiomata.

Referrals are welcomed from GP services, Whanau, community providers and self-referrals.
