

ServicesPiki Te Ora Ki Te Awakairangi (PHO)Kokiri Marae Keriana Olsen Trust is contracted to provide Health Promotion Services to the members of the Piki te Ora ki te Awakairangi Primary Health Organisation. Piki te Ora ki te Awakairangi is an access funded Primary Health Organisation contracted by the Hutt Valley District Health Board to deliver a range of services including health promotion to a population of around 12,000 people primarily located in the Pomare, Petone and Wainuiomata communities. Working collaboratively with Maori, communities and other providers including Regional Public Health utilizing a range of strategies that are both innovative and evidenced based are some of the key components that contribute to quality health promotion activities provided by Kokiri Marae Keriana Olsen Trust. Activities contained within the Piki te Ora Health Promotion Plan are consistent with population health objectives and public health programmes at national, regional and local levels. Members Health Promotion ServicesKokiri Marae Keriana Olsen Trust, Whai Oranga o te Iwi, the Hutt Union and Community Health Service, and the Pacific Health Service are the four members of Piki te Ora PHO. All four service members bring with them a history of providing health promotion activities with acknowledgement given to Kokiri Marae Keriana Olsen Trust as the provider whose core business and focus is health promotion. Health Promotion Co-ordination TeamRepresentatives from each of the Piki te Ora service members and Regional Public Health are responsible for the core development of each years health promotion plan. Each representative is charged with responsibility for collecting information from their services/staff, clients and communities and bringing it to the table for consideration in the formation of each years plan. What we know about the Piki Te Ora PopulationThe members providing 1st contact services are based in three distinct and separate communities and geographical locations, Pomare, Petone and Wainuiomata. Some clients accessing these services come from surrounding suburbs such as Stokes Valley, Naenae, Taita and Moera with the majority of clients based within the communities where the services operate from.
