ServicesFoster CareKokiri Marae has been a Level 1 Child & Family Support Service under the Children, Young Persons & Their Families Act 1989 since 1993 and provides placement with Māori whānau for Māori tamariki removed from their homes by the Child Youth & Family Service. Only social workers from the Department of Child Youth & Family can make referrals to this service. Kokiri Marae utilises a pool of whānau caregivers who make their homes available to care for the tamariki removed by Child Youth & Family. The care of tamariki placed in the caregiver’s home is a whānau position involving the whole whānau who are supported in their role by Kokiri Marae. Would you like to be a caregiver? If so, contact Diane Ruru on 04 9394630 for more information.
