KAITOKO WHANAU POSITION
Position: Full Time - 40 hours per week
This is a challenging, new and exciting position for a social or community worker who has a background in working within Maori communities and whanau.
The Kaitoko Whanau worker will work within Maori communities to broker, facilitate services for whanau requiring appropriate health, education and/or social services.
- Work with whanau as opposed to individual whanau members to strengthen whanau capability and capacity.
- Identify and work with Maori whanau experiencing multiple significant hardship and those at risk of entry into the criminal justice system.
- The ideal candidate will have to demonstrate that they have a excellent work ethic.
- Smoke and drug free.
- Self motivated and the ability to work unsupervised.
- Have a clean drivers licence, computer literate and excellent report writing skills.
- Have the ability to work not only with whanau but to facilitate and advocate with government agencies for appropriate services for whanau.
